Rebel Music: Coney Island Punkfest!

The Cyclone, Wonderwheel and ten of the best local hardcore punk acts NYC has to offer what more can a New York punker like me ask me for. I received my Facebook invite from SpEd and man, I am so psyched to see them, The Krays, Von Frankensteins and several other NYHC bands dirty up the so-called “cleaned up and upscale” new Coney Island. Admission is only five bucks so you’ll be a fool to miss out on all the shenanigans. There will be raffles, giveaways, tattoo and drink specials all throughout the show.

The Coney Island PunkFest is Saturday, July 14th begins 3pm sharp and ends when the pigs break up the riot. As you already know, I wil be front row center moshing, spitting and flipping off the bands, and you better be too. The venue is 21+ sorry kiddies, but don’t sweat it some of the earlier acts will be playing outside so all you younglings’ can have a chance to enjoy the festivities as well, not to mention watch the bands scare the Starbucks out of the trendy yupsters.

Directions are simple just take the D,F,N,Q trains to Stillwell Ave and follow your ears one block over. When you hear the in your face sounds of stripped, three-chord rock you have officially arrived. Stay tuned for my review and exclusive photos of the festival…
